I've seen the need for Commanders to provide for the community once before. I think I see the need again...
During the release of engineers, I had been providing the metals and minerals for Commanders but it was limited to within my created community at Teamsters Logistics Corporation. With the help of its like minded members, they wanted for nothing when it came to blueprints or unlocking.
Providing in this way was an absolute breathe of fresh air for the small mining community within our faction. The mining was beginning to get stale, selling into a market with no visible effect. The trade was becoming redundant.
Then it hit me...
Seeing that providing for our members was one of the greatest scenes of Commander interaction in the Open setting, we branched out another server and offered our services to the entire Elite Dangerous community, thus The Cabin was created.
Commanders far and wide visited our home system. As a faction it was most definitely the proudest and most iconic moment in our careers as pilots. Providing for the community using the skills we had fine tuned over the years. Mining was finally getting the recognition, the discord server peaking at over five hundred customers.
The same situation is apparent now.
I see many posts asking for help. Can we do this? Can we do that? But the issue always remains the same. We're too spread out to help or we're the lone miner of a faction. One of the greatest parts of mining is being able to talk about it openly with others who know what you're talking about. Add to that being able to do it as a wing and it doesn't get much better.
One of the most rewarding parts of wing mining is adding newcomers to the mix. Taking them in and showing them what it's all about. Believe me, the laughs we've had when the fresh miner finally finds out Painite does actually exist is epic.
Using the knowledge and experience I have in mining, and combining it with the same successful visage of providing for the community, I can think of no better way than to bring miners together under one roof where they can have as much help and information that can possibly be provided. Add to the mix some of the greatest minds in mining that bring with them their own self developed techniques, we've got the recipe to give mining the community it deserves.
